About Me

I was born, and grew up in South Africa. I have lived and travelled through the United Kingdom, Japan, USA and Canada where I was employed as a teacher. I have also travelled extensively through Europe, Asia and America.

I have a background in music, culture and education and currently work in public libraries while studying towards a Diploma in Library and Information Technology.

After achieving a Bachelor of Music degree, a teaching certificate, and an Arts Administration certificate, I established a Music School in South Africa for disadvantaged children from orphanages around the city. I have actively participated in organizing various cultural and educational festivals and workshops in the various countries I’ve lived in. I also hold a Masters in Music and Culture from the UK, and have done a host of courses in Indigenous studies in Canada.

As a volunteer at the Museum of Anthropology, I served as Chair of the Research Committee, as President and Past President of the MOA Volunteer Association, I have served on the Director’s Advisory Council and continue to do research in order to decolonize the African Collection.
